70017 Arrow had been the first Britannia to arrive on the Western Region in 1951 because 70015 Apollo and 70016 Ariel, although constructed earlier at Crewe, were both diverted firstly to the London Midland Region at Camden and Holbeck and then to the Eastern Region at Stratford before reaching in mid-1953 their intended homes at Old Oak Common and Laira respectively. In mid-1958 70015, 70017 and 70021 Morning Star were transferred from Cardiff Canton to the London Midland Region.
