35017 1965 Southampton Central

35017 1965 Southampton Central

Originally thought to be May 25th but since dissproven. This is the 13.00 Bournemouth West-Waterloo

Ian Simpson has been doing some investigation and says "There are two photos of an up Bournemouth-Waterloo train, taken at the east end of SC, with time on station clock circa 14.10-14.15. These are 35017 (no duty number) and 35028 (duty number 433, with interesting Pullman coach behind tender). These trains must be the 13.00 Bournemouth West-Waterloo (duty No.433, due SC 14.11/15), but not both on the same day! In fact I don’t think 25/5/65 is correct for either photo. On 25/5/65, 35017 was working the 10.30 Waterloo-Weymouth/17.35 Weymouth Waterloo duty, while 35030 was actually on the diagram that covered the 13.00 Bournemouth West-Waterloo (this diagram started with the 08.30down ).
35017 almost certainly worked the 13.00 up on 27/5/65, so that may be the correct date for the photo. However one of the posters has changed since a photo proven as 25th May and this loco did not work this train on the date of Jims second visit on June 11th 1965 therefore it must be another occasion.
