This blue Clayton was still in operation through to 1971. The Andrew Barclay is NCB Lothians Southern Area No8 (AB1175 of 1909) and moved to Polkemmet Colliry in around March 1973.

The colliery was just south of Newtongrange station on the Waverley Route and closed in April 1972.
