Ex-LMS Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0 No. 45713 'Renown'. Built at Crewe in June 1936 as LMS No. 5713 and withdrawn in October 1962.
A fine portrait of 'Renown' at St. Rollox MPD in February 1962 showing the so-called 'Fowler' 3,500 gallon narrow tender one of four types fitted to the Jubilees. Others were the 'Fowler' high-sided (10 only), Stanier 4,000 gallon and Stanier 3,500 gallon. Swapping between these types was a common practice over the years.
