Ex-LMS Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0 No. 45605 'Cyprus'. Built by NBL Of Glasgow in April 1935 as LMS No. 5605 and withdrawn in March 1964.
Scarborough being a major seaside resort and holiday destination, often attracted 'foreign' locos visiting from a wide variety of locations. This excellent 1950s elevated view of Scarborough MPD's turntable has 'Cyprus' being turned after bringing in a holiday special, probably from Leeds as 45605 was allocated to Holbeck at the time.

M323 train ID plate and smoke box door handles in same position as “45605 1954-08-01 Scarborough” (although the date may be a week out and it is actually 7 August).
In summer of 1954, a 20A Holbeck engine worked the 08.46 Bradford Forster Square – Scarborough, returning home on 12.24 Scarborough - York, then 15.10 York - Leeds.
