Ex-LMS Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0 No. 45738 'Samson'. Built at Crewe in Dec. 1936 as LMS No. 5738 and withdrawn in Dec. 1963.
With three on the wrong side, two undecided, two atop and four on the right side. This style of fence was the standard issue for most of the railway network in years gone by. 'Samson' with but a haze at the chimney, rushes by these carefree youngsters at Gayton Loops, Northants. with a down express in August 1958.
