At Liverpool Lime Street on 29th. May, 1956 Farnley Junction's "Jubilee " 45646 , " Napier " is off with the 2.20.p.m. working to Newcastle. This was an early shot this day on a visit by myself to Lime Street whilst spending a week with relatives at nearby Leigh, but a number of my efforts at that location were below standard , particularly when compared with the rather more successful images captured on film at Crewe during that same week.
Certainly not the easiest location for the railway photographer , Lime Steet was dark and dismal and full of what could politely be called " atmosphere" , but in reality was thick smoke which seemed to persist throughout my spell there.
