Ex-works 'Jubilee' 45688 'Polyphemus' is captured in pristine glory at Crewe in the early 1950s. It is on a van freight 'running-in' turn to ensure all is well before returning to her home depot. Looking immaculate in ex-works condition, I suspect this was taken in June 1952 when the loco had just received the green livery. 45688 was built at Crewe in Feb. 1936 and was withdrawn in Dec. 1963.
