45655 1956-03 Manchester Slade Lane Junction

It has often struck me that when a member of the traveling public saw a locomotive named 'Keith' (or 'Duncan', even 'Vernon' for that matter), they would wonder why on earth this should be! Of course WE knew - didn't we? Here's the aforementioned 'Jubilee' 45655 'Keith' on ex-L&NWR metals, passing Slade Lane Junction, Longsight, heading towards Levenshulme. The lines to the left are for Wilmslow. Photo dated March 1956.
