A late arrival in April 1962 after the large group of Jubilees transferred the previous November to Burton, No.45575 Madras peeps out of the shed on 7th October 1962. It stayed until withdrawal on 14th June 1963.
Geoff White says "45575 was in store on Shrewsbury shed in July 1963 and then stored until September 1963 at Harlescott Sidings, Shrewsbury. It was scrapped at Crewe in October 1963.
Does anyone know if it worked the Stafford/Wellington?" (Salop)/Shrewsbury line in the summer of 1963? He adds"45575 Madras was derailed at Allscott Sidings, Nr.Wellington, Salop on 1st June 1963. It was working a Stafford (Salop Sidings) to Shrewsbury freight. It was retrieved and towed to Shrewsbury MPD and then to Harlescott Sidings, Shrewsbury. Subsequently scrapped at Crewe Works in October 1963 "
