The only post-war repaint in crimson lake. Ian Townend says "It is believed to have retained this red livery until Jan 1952 when it emerged from works in the BR green livery. However it did receive its BR no '45594' (in Gill sans) along with 'British Railways' on the tender in Feb 49
so this would make it the last LMS loco to carry LMS red after nationalisation"
