Built by the North British Company at Glasgow in late 1934 " Bahamas " went initially to Crewe Motive Power Depot before spending a lifetime in a number of L.M.S. Depots ranging from Bristol Barrow Road to Preston , ths engine being destined to be one of the last three " Jubilees " remaining in service with British Railways whilst allocted to Leeds Holbeck in 1967.
" Bahamas " clearly displays her double chimney in this view which she gained whilst at Crewe Works in May of 1961 , returning to traffic as the only " Jubilee " to be so equipped in mid 1962 when she was reallocated from her earlier home at Carlisle to Stockport.
Withdrawn from Stockport in June of 1966 she was purchased by the " Bahamas Locomotive Society " the following year and was restored by Hunslets of Leeds before finding herself at Edgeley prior to going into store at Bury when the former Depot closed in May of 1968.
A later move took the engine to Dinting in late 1968 , followed by a spell of duty on the Keighley and Worth from where she also made regular main line Special Workings.
