Ian R Townend says "As a trainspotter this name always intrigued me. The lady in question was the daughter of Louise, eldest daughter of Edward VII. Her given name was Alexandra and
in 1905 her grandfather (Edward VII) bestowed the title 'Princess' on her. She retained the title 'Princess Alexandra' even after becoming Princess Arthur of Connaught after her marriage to the Duke of Connaught. Thus she had 2 LMS locomotives named after her -6207 and 6224".
