No.46206 Princess Marie Louise was a very rare visitor to Patricroft in August 1961. According to the late Jim Carter it had arrived at Manchester Victoria on a train from the West of England, having been diverted from London Road station during the latter’s rebuilding. Apparently a Patricroft crew relieved the ‘wrong’ train at Victoria, taking the empty stock to the nearby Ordsall Lane carriage sidings before stabling the ‘Lizzie’ on their home shed.
