The joy of a 'works' visit was the sight of newly overhauled locomotives in pristine condition and waiting to be returned to their 'home' sheds and revenue earning service. It was even more exciting when this was an express passenger locomotive! Here's ex-LMS Stanier 'Princess Royal' 46205 'Princess Victoria' at Crewe Works in June 1956 in exactly this condition!
