This is the magnificent sight of the prototype ex-LMS Stanier 'Princess Royal' class No. 46200 'Princess Royal' on the return leg of the 1X76 coded Euston to Carlisle railtour organised jointly by the RCTS and SLS. It seems difficult to accept that only six months later this superb machine will be withdrawn. She is passing Kensal Green on the approaches to Euston. Sunday 3rd June 1962.
