Ian Townend says "What a magnificent portrait! 46210 acquired a domed boiler in March 1953 when it was repainted in green livery. This photo must have been taken before then, probably 1952, when it was still blue. "

And Peter Kerslake adds "46210 " Lady Patricia " was one of the four locomotives loaned to the Western Region in late January of 1956 in order to help out when the " Kings " were all taken out of service for strengthening work on their bogies to be carried out at Swindon , a number having been found to have suffered fractures in the side frames.
Arriving at Old Oak Common in company with her sister engine 46207 " Princess Arthur of Connaught " on the 31st . of January the pair joined 46254 " City of Stoke on Trent " and 46257 " City of Salford " both of which had arrived there a week earlier .
The four loaned engines worked express passenger turns between Paddington and Wolverhampton and also to Plymouth but 46210 seen in this fine view suffered a collapsed brick arch on the 10th . February whilst on the down " Cornish Riviera " and was laid up at Laira Depot whilst replacement bricks were obtained , presumably from Crewe !"
