6211 was photographed on a running in turn at Shrewsbury in February 1938 after an overhaul during which its crosshead driven vacuum pump was removed. By this time the engine had also been fitted with a Hasler speed recorder and steam sanding as well as receiving a 10 ton high sided tender. Note the small, circular access panels in the outside cylinder clothing and the early pattern sandbox filler lids with knobs.
