LNER A3 4-6-2 No 2744 Grand Parade with the up 'Flying Scotsman' passing Retford on 29 August 1936. Far more interesting than the A3 is the NPCS in the siding. There is a newly outshopped NER horse box still with a brake lever at the 'wrong' left hand end. Adjacent is an ex-GCR full brake with 'plug in' sliding doors, it looks like the door runners have been over oiled and the surplus has run down the doors.
