LNER A3 4-6-2 No 60103 Flying Scotsman with the diverted Newcastle-Kings Cross express passing Knottingley in the late 1950s, there appears to be only two coaches but it is rounding the curve at Knottingley East Junction, passing under Headlands Road bridge, taking the Askern Branch to Shaftholme Junction. The Goole line is beyond the embankment on the right.
