D6100 1959-10-24 entering Harringay West station

On a Kings Cross bound express, the formation of the train suggests it is likely a Cambridge Buffet Express. It was delivered new to Hornsey in March 1959 after protracted delivery tests. It stayed there for eleven months before being stored at Peterborough before it was sent packing back to Scotland along with the rest of the Eastern Region members of the class.
