47000 1962-10-07 Derby Works

The 1932 built Kitson-designed 0-4-0STs were the successors to the Deeley 0-4-0Ts, even having stovepipe chimneys albeit of a smaller and less attractive design. British Railways built another five in 1955 to essentially the same design as the five built by the LMS. No.47000 spent many years at Burton before moving to Rowsley in 1952, for use on the Cromford & High Peak line, and then to Derby itself in 1959 from where it was withdrawn in October 1966.
