SR Z class 0-8-0T No 30955 and LSWR 700 class 0-6-0 No 30327 start the 1 in 37 climb from Exeter St.Davids to Exeter Central with an up goods train on August 15, 1960. The train is being banked by Z No 30956.
Peter Kerslake says "The eight "Z" class at Exmouth Junction were used for this work until late 1962 when they replaced by eight "W" 2-6-4Ts transferred from Feltham."
