Down empty stock train from St Pancras at Watling Street Junctionbr/ View eastward, towards West Hampstead and St. Pancras: Midland Main line, St Pancras - Leicester etc. Off to the right are West End Sidings. The train is rather oddly headed by two tank engines with only the pilot running bunker-first. They are Stanier 3P 2-6-2T No. 148 (built 1937, later rebuilt with a larger boiler, withdrawn 8/62) and Fairburn 4P 2-6-4T No. 2681 (built 1945, withdrawn 3/65).
