A rare wartime picture taken in August 1940. LMS 7F No 9544 brings a freight past Brinklow, Warwickshire. This engine survived far longer than most other ‘Austin 7’s, not being withdrawn by BR until February 1960. This class of loco mostly is associated with the ex L&YR lines of the Central Division of the LMS, but before nationalisation they were more widely spread.
