GWR 57XX 0-6-0PT No 7716 with a down freight passing Cowley Bridge Junction on 3 September 1958. Peter Kerslake says "Taken from the roadway overbridge here just to the east of Exeter St. Davids with 7716 running bunker first down the W.R. main line to the station and the Southern Region's North Cornwall lines diverging on the left. That wooden framed Hotel has featured in many photographs taken here, the whole area being renowned for its frequent flooding with the River Exe out of shot on the extreme left behind the Cowley Bridge Junction signal box."
