5976 1959-07-04 Hungerford

Old Oak Common Hall No.5976 Ashwicke Hall at Hungerford, probably deputising for a Castle, with the Down 'Royal Duchy' on 4th July 1959.

Peter Kerslake adds "The fireman is either checking that the road ahead is clear or is keen to get into the picture, but 5976 is going to need a pilot engine from Newton Abbot over the banks to Plymouth with that load behind the tender. Something must have gone amiss at Old Oak for them to put a Hall on this train."
