1948 Locomotive Exchanges
GWR Modified Hall class 4-6-0 No 6990 Witherslack Hall passes Bagthorpe Junction with the 10am Marylebone to Manchester (London Road) express on June 24, 1948.

Peter Kerslake says"With a Dynamometer Car coupled behind its tender. Those large cylinders restricted the "Hall" to working over the former Great Central line during the Exchanges, a line at which 6990 spent a further period of time in 2006 within her preservation era, and its association with the Great Central has continued throughout the past years."
