Great Western Railway Collett 'Hall' class 4-6-0 No. 4979 'Wooton Hall'. Built at Swindon in Feb. 1930 and withdrawn in Dec.1963. A pleasing portrait of 'Wooton Hall' at Birmingham Snow Hill Station in April 1937. In the adjacent road an LMS wagon is loaded with some Callender's Cables. William Ormiston Callender founded the company in 1870 and began manufacturing insulated cables at their Erith site on the Thames in the 1880s.
