No.6988 Swithland Hall goes onto shed coupled to a Hawksworth flat sided tender, a type introduced with the ‘Modified Halls’ from No.6971 onwards. The freight lines from Cowley Bridge Junction through Riverside yard passed immediately adjacent to the shed wall and a Down freight can be seen held allowing the light engine movement to pass. Between the freight lines and the platform road were carriage sidings which are being shunted by the pannier.
