Allocated to Reading 81D shed, GWR Hall 4-6-0 No 7914 Lleweni Hall with a down stopping train in Sonning cutting on 27 June 1959. The stock appears to be entirely non corridor standard 'suburban' 6 coach rake as used on stopping services from Paddington to Reading. Usually had a 61xx at the front!

Peter Kerslake says "7914 'Lleweni Hall ' was Reading based in the mid to late ' fifties so isn't far from home here as it takes the down slow line through Sonning Cutting, located just to the east of Reading station with 'tyding up' work well underway on the right and the assorted greenery well trimmed and looked after, a sharp contrast to today!
The imposing bridge in the foreground takes the A4 main road linking Reading to Twyford and beyond with the bridge in the far distance carries an unclassified road to the west of Twyford.
It was about here that the authorities positioned a wooden viewing platform on the right hand bank for the use of cameramen, especially the renowned Maurice Earley who recorded many hundreds of images over many years at what was one of his most favoured locations".
