No.6996 Blackwell Hall in the mid-1950s on an Up passenger train has Class 3 fitted freight headlamps. Underneath the grime it still appears to be in lined black livery which suggests the picture may have been taken while it was shedded at Old Oak Common between May 1952 and August 1954, although it seems more likely to be after that date when it had moved to Taunton.
