Bristol Bath Road's 7907 , "Hart Hall " is on an express passenger working seen here at Bathampton , one mile east of Bath and may either be on a main line duty or using the Avon Valley line , the junction for which is here at Bathampton.
The Avon Valley line provides a direct route down to Westbury and Weymouth , and in days past through services for the South Coast from South Wales could avoid reversal at Bristol Temple Meads by running directly from Stapleton Road via Doctor Day's Bridge and North Somerset Junctions before heading eastwards to Bath and thence southwards on this Avon Valley line from here at Bathampton.
