I've captured 5936 , " Oakley Hall " on film here at Gloucester Horton Road shed on 4th. January , 1965 at the very beginning of steam's last year on the Western Region , and although she looks typically uncared for she still has her nameplates and numberplates intact which was not at all common at this period of time.
The sun is shining , and there is a line of condemned engines visible in the background , both Western and Midland Region examples , all waiting their fate doubtless at the South Wales breakers' yards to which they would be taken in due course.
