LMS Converted Royal Scot 4-6-0 No 46148 The Manchester Regiment approaches Llandudno Junction with a down express. Geoffrey Luckhurst says "I think the dating of this photo should be put at c1963. The key identifier is the turnout in the DOWN-SLOW where the line from Blaenau Ffestiniog trails in. This junction used to be further west (behind the photographer). It could not have changed before the end of 1962. See your own photo of 41235 dated 1962 Sept 7th. I suggest Mr Field took this shot on the same day as he photographed D288 your reference KF #26391. If you compare these photos and look at the business premises you will see that the delivery van is in the same place. Loco 46148 only became a local engine after September 1962 and seemed to be "pride of the shed" to judge by its clean turnout. "
