LMS Royal Scot 4-6-0 No 46151 The Royal Horse Guardsman at Crewe North shed in c1948.

An intriguing view of 46151 in early BR days. The smokebox number is in Gill Sans style but retains the pseudo LMS block style cabside numerals applied in Oct 48. The tender appears to be in plain black but devoid of any insignia (a not uncommn practice at this time) but the loco livery is anybody's guess. Could it still be red under all that grime? There is a suggestion of lining on the splasher beneath the nameplate
