With British Railways in full on the tank - many old tanks had no sign of ownership. Llanelly had a number of these light weight panniers for working the BPGV, LMM and extensive dock lines that once existed in and around the town. The 16xx panniers replaced these rather elderly locos, Llanelly keeping some on the books until the shed closed in 1965.
