Midland 1F 0-6-0T hurries home on Sunday to Canklow Depot from Masborough Sorting Sidings
Running southward on the ex-North Midland Railway 'Old Road' south of Rotherham, is LMS No. 1805, one of the survivors of the 280 4'7" 1F shunting engines designed by Samuel Johnson in 1874 and still in more or less original form in 1949. Note the surrounding 'industrial desert'. Rotherham Main colliery smoking away in the background.
