41795 1956-03-00 Derby MPD

The 185 locomotives of the '1377' class 0-6-0Ts that Samuel Johnson designed for the Midland Railway had long and useful lives. They were introduced in 1878 and not finally extinct until 1965. One, BR No. 41708 survives in preservation. 41795 is at Derby MPD in March 1956, it was built at Derby in Oct. 1890 and was withdrawn in Apr. 1959. Note 41795's smokebox handrail and toolbox differ from classmate No. 41773 behind!
