Jersey Railways & Tramways Co. Ltd. 3ft. 6in. gauge Bagnall 2-4-0 Tank No. 4. 'St. Brelades'. Built by W & G Bagnall of Stoke-on-Trent in 1896 and withdrawn in 1937.

Although the railways of the Isle of Man are well-know and loved, another British Isle also had railways from 1873 to 1937. This was Jersey where two companies were established. The locomotive seen here at St Helier (Weighbridge) station in the 1900s belonged to the Jersey Railways and Tramways Co. Ltd. On withdrawal, it was offered to York museum for preservation. The offer was accepted but the loco was never delivered!
Its nameplates, somewhat insultingly, are preserved at the NRM in York.
