Paul Warner solves the mystery location "When I saw this photo I thought it was on the Guildford - Redhill Line, I went with my first thoughts. Starting with the reporting number 849 for the summer of 59 is stated as SO 12.14 Hastings - Birmingham. However, the train is running in the opposite direction - from Redhill. The location is Gomshall. There is a photo of a train in a similar position on David Hays web site [BR Southern Region 3] Guildford MPD (70C) Remembered".
