E3006 1960 Cheadle Hulme

E3006 1960 Cheadle Hulme

Brand new 'AL1' Bo-Bo Electrics are double-heading an up Manchester to Crewe working in the Summer of 1960. '1V58' would indicate a North to West service via Shrewsbury, either to Cardiff or Bristol and beyond: I'm not sure which as I don't have a 1960 working timetable. The second loco appears to be E3007 and as is probably not under power - the pantagraph is down and I doubt if the train warrents 6400HP! The electric locomotives would obviously have to be replaced at Crewe.
They are passing through Cheadle Hulme in Cheshire.
