GWR 2251’ 0-6-0 No.3200 has just crossed the Glaslyn Bridge on the eastern approach to Portmadoc with the 1.38pm Dovey Junction to Pwllheli train on 9th September 1961. It was built in 1946 and at this date was allocated to Oswestry, moving to Templecombe on the Somerset & Dorset in 1963.
The Afon Glaslyn was about sixteen miles long and flowed from the Glaslyn Lake on the slopes of Snowdon before passing through the tidal sluices on the Cob at the south-eastern end of Portmadoc and into Tremadog Bay.
