3200 herself , the first of the final batch of Mr. Collett's fine little design , introduced initially in 1930 to combat the shortage of light passenger and freight locomotives , especially in Wales where the former G.W.R. designs were nearing the end of their working lives .3200 emerged from Swindon in 1946 , just prior to the end of the Great Western , and by 1956 was allocated to 89C ., which was Machynlleth , where she joined no less than nine members of the earlier "2251 " series , that Depot having the distinction of housing the most of the class at that time and from where they were to become regular workhorses on the Cambrian system , particularly when the Depot's little " Dukedogs " were being withdrawn during the mid ' fifties.Oswestry Depot dated back to 1860 and was absorbed into Cambrian Railway ownership four years later , the Depot being enlarged and given a major uplift in later years.
