GWR 2251 class 0-6-0 No 3217, coupled with a ex-ROD tender, at Princes Risborough with a Banbury to Old Oak Common goods train in January 1948. Note the 'British Railways' chalked on its smokebox. The engine was in fact virtually brand new having been built at Swindon the previous month being the last locomotive to be completed by the GWR and took the number formerly carried by Dukedog 9017.
