Although well in need of an oily cloth on her paintwork 3207 makes a nice picture here at Shrewsbury in the 1960's .
My 1956 shedbook shows that 3207 had been an Oswestry engine at that time , one of four of the later " 3200 " class , with Worcester enjoying the majority of the twenty built , no less than eight being found there that year .
The larger proportions of the Collett tender is shown to advantage in this view as the smaller Churchward design seemed ill suited to the class .
Like their earlier sisters in the " 2251 " class the twenty later "3200 's " were to be found spread over a wide area of the Great Western network in the mid ' fifties , from Didcot , where there were four to Oswestry , also with four , whilst Gloucester , Reading and Bristol Bath Road all just had a single representative each on their books.
