This NER J21 found itself at the GC shed of Retford then Doncaster around this period before Darlington in 1952. This is one of the few J21s which drifted south to the GE Section in the 1930s to substitute for GE 2-4-0s sent to the NE. On its way back north No. 65070 was laid up for some time at Doncaster - the sack on the chimney indicates that it was 'In Store'.
