Peter Kerslake remembers; "Although 'earmarked' for preservation at this period of time 7029, 'Clun Castle' was still in BR ownership at the date of my picture, namely the 8th. March 1965. Seen here on Gloucester Horton Road Depot 7029's nameplates have been removed for safe keeping . 7029 was undertaking duties for BR as well as appearing on steam specials at this time, finally ending its days with BR at the very end of that year before moving to Tyseley for restoration."
