GWR Dukedog 4-4-0 No 9018 at Machynlleth shed on July 29, 1959.

Peter Kerslake says "Constructed between 1936 and 1939 using the frames from condemned "Bulldogs" with boilers, cabs and fittings from similarly withdrawn "Dukes" the 29 Dukedogs were the mainstay of motive power on the Cambrian until the first withdrawals took place in 1948 although the class soldiered on until the end of 1960 when 9017 and 9014 became the last two survivors, both withdrawn in October of that year."
