2-SL unit rebuilt in 1929 at Peckham Rye workshops from the original overhead vehicles built for the South London line. The roof was lower above the driver's cab and guard's compartment where the pantograph had been. The 2 code used both for the South London line and Wimbledon-Croydon routes were seldom removed leaving the rear of trains with the headcode and tail light.
